What We Do
Honoring nurses while they can hear it
Not every tribute belongs at a graveside. We are just as glad to stand for a nurse who is still with us.
The Living Tribute was established to recognize nurses who are no longer able to practice due to health-related conditions, at their end of life or who have had an exemplary career in nursing. Members of the Honor Guard visit the nurse’s home or another location of the family’s choosing to conduct this meaningful tribute. During the ceremony, the nurse is presented with a white rose, pinned with a Caring Hearts pin and covered with an embroidered Honor Guard blanket. The nightingale Lamp remains lit during the ceremony to signify to nurses continued legacy.
This service is provided at no cost to the nurse or their family, and a Nightingale Tribute may still be conducted at the nurse’s funeral or memorial service
